The first day of classes! We received our first assignment - photographing places that we read about in our pre-departure literature. After class, David, Linsay, Stewart, Mark and I stayed after to get our homework (finding the places mentioned in the lit) done (what good students!). I also downloaded Grey's Anatomy off iTunes. I didn't know that you can't watch tv shows online for free outside of the US...it was a little sad.
David and I left the Institute at around 3 and went back to the Pension to take a little time off. I took another amazing shower and watched Grey's Anatomy (it was really good, in case you missed it).
At 8:30 we met back up with everyone at the Institute and went to the AghaRTA Jazz Club (You can check it out here, but it's in Czech). I was a little worried that the jazz was going to be like...American-Kenny G-esque, but it wasn't. It was more like a jam band made up of a guitar player, a flute/clarinet player, a bass player, and a drummer. They were amazing...I've never seen anyone play like that.
After the show ended (at almost midnight), a group of us went out to Club Area, a "disco". The place was completely empty except for us and two other tables. We hung out and the boys all danced and acted like goofballs (the DJ played American pop and techno). It was a lot of fun.

First off I'm pretty sure that May 20th is a Tuesday...but haha I can see how you're a bit thrown off. (sorry, you know it's a Vondy thing to be annoyingly picky :( !!) So it seems like you had quite the first day! And yes, it sucks you can't watch US tv for free over there...but at least you have iTunes. I'm also glad you enjoyed the jazz band...as a musician I'm glad that you can appreciate talent like the kind they have...it amazes me still! Anyway, you posted like 3 other entries since I last checked, so I'm off to leave comments on all of them :)
